About

Daniel O’Neil finds happiness under gray skies, conifers and Pacific storms. An upbringing in Portland, Oregon, inspired this appreciation for the Northwest. Daniel chooses his writing assignments based on a connection with his home.

He has written about the Pacific Northwest environment, history, the arts, snowboarding, wine and more, for print magazines including Via, 1859, Bend, 1889, Coast Mountain Culture, Method Mag and The Snowboarder’s Journal, as well as for the Sierra Club Oregon Chapter. Daniel also works with photography, covering the subjects and stories he writes about. He lives on the north Oregon Coast.
